Cedar Rue was established in 2017 by Cathy and Amber Sudzius—a mother-daughter duo from Middle Tennessee. What started as a small flea market booth has turned into a physical and online presence.

Cathy’s art style combines her mathematics degree and her love of color in the form of dot painting and mandalas as well as farm animals.

When there’s sadness in the world, I need to find some happiness, and what is happier than cows?

Amber’s art style stems from her love of writing in the form of modern hand lettering which she taught herself from Youtube. In addition, Amber dabbles in mixed media and more abstract art styles.

My style is somewhere in the realm of colorful, eclectic chaos. Come to think of it, that’s pretty much how I would describe my entire life.

Together with Brandon (Cathy’s son/Amber’s brother) and Arvi (Amber’s dog/Cathy’s granddog) Cedar Rue makes quite the team. Not to mention Cathy’s husband/Amber’s dad, Linas, lovingly referred to as “Tax Man.”

With the pandemic in 2020 we started setting our sights on digital art work on clothing and home goods.

Amber and Cathy have big dreams for their little business and are looking forward to achieving them covered in paint with giant smiles. Thanks for being part of Cedar Rue’s journey!
